Cartoon Fumes Australia

Delhi newspaper published a cartoon in its news paper. It shows a person with ku klux klan dress and victorian police badge. Now this cartoon has fumed australia.

Acting prime minister Julia Gillard said the following :

"Any suggestion of the kind is deeply offensive and I would condemn the making of such comment," she said adding that police were doing an outstanding job in cracking down on crime and increasing Indian students' safety.
"The Victorian Police have stepped up and increased policing in difficult hotspots in Victoria where they have seen a number of violent incidences. They have worked in close collaboration with representatives of the Indian community as they have gone about with this step up in policing,"

What Is Ku Klux Klan ?

Ku Klux Klan (KKK), informally known as The Klan, is the name of several past and present hate group organizations in the United States whose avowed purpose was to protect the rights of and further the interests of white Americans by violence and intimidation. The first such organizations originated in the Southern states and eventually grew to national scope. They developed iconic white costumes consisting of robes, masks, and conical hats. The KKK has a record of using terrorism, violence, and lynching to murder and oppress African Americans, Jews and other minorities and to intimidate and oppose Roman Catholics and labor unions.

Nothing Unusal , Violence Happens Everywhere-Aussies D.P.M.

India gave strong signal by issuing travel advisory for Australia. Reacting to this australia critized Indian Leaders of creating hysteria. Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard insisted that her country is safe for all international students and said "acts of violence" occur in big cities around the world.

"In big cities around the world we do see acts of violence from time to time; that happens in Melbourne , it happens in Mumbai , it happens in New York, it happens in London ," she was quoted as saying by ABC news.

"Any individual act of violence is obviously to be deeply regretted and our sympathies go to anyone who is harmed by an act of violence".

Well she is right that violence does occur everywhere in the world but when Indians are assaulted , robbed frequently and now even murdered , how can it be said as everywhere occuring event.

Indian Student Association's President in australia states that last year 1600 such incidents occured which makes 5 incident a day. What media has reported is major ones only.

If one off incident occurs it can be said as can occur everyhwhere but when such incidents repetatively occur which targets particular group how can that be ignored?

Aamir khan features in public service act on tourism . In that ad , a tourist guide is seen imposing his services on two foreigners . Aamir steps in and give 2 minute advisory to the people that how their income , this countries reputation is dependent on these tourist. The theme line of the ad is -'Aage bado aur virodh karo'.
